Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal LaunchOver 7,500 children and babies are admitted to one of the four Northland hospitals each year. Funds raised by the Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal help Northland DHB Maternal and Child Health Services afford much-needed hospital equipment.Taonga Peita is one baby who has benefited from equipment purchased from the Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal donation. He spent two and a half weeks in Whangarei Hospital’s Specialist Care Baby Unit (SCBU) after he was born prematurely on 16 May this year, and continues to rely upon oxygen 24/7. Taonga has a range of medical complications including Down Syndrome, Transient Myeloproliferative Disorder, and a hole in his heart.On Saturday 28 October we are hosting a fundraising event at A’Fare with live music, an auction and mystery bag raffle.
