Supporting our community is at the heart of everything we do.

Over $7,842,000 granted

Since our launch in 2004, Northland Community Foundation has proudly granted over $7,842,000. These funds have supported a wide range of projects and organisations across sectors such as arts, animal welfare, education, environment, health, social services, and sports.

Our 2025 Impact

In 2025, our Grants Committee allocated funding to 22 deserving recipients. This funding supported operational costs, salaries, project expenses, and equipment, enabling these organisations to continue their vital mahi in Northland.

How to Apply

The Northland Grassroots 2025 funding round is expected to open in April/May 2025. If your organisation is making a difference in Northland, keep an eye out for updates and prepare to apply!

About the Northland Grassroots Fund

The Northland Grassroots Fund grants approximately $90,000 annually to support worthy causes and charities across Northland. Organisations can apply for a grant of up to $15,000, with funds allocated to projects and initiatives that align with our goal of creating positive, long-term impact in our community. With this financial support, we aim to strengthen the organisations that strengthen our region.

Who Manages the Fund?

Northland Community Foundation acts as the Local Donation Manager for The Tindall Foundation, a philanthropic family foundation working throughout Aotearoa to support:

• Whānau/families

• Hapori/community

• Te taiao/the environment

We distribute donations on behalf of The Tindall Foundation to projects that align with their Family/Whānau Focus Area within Te Tai Tokerau Northland. These funds are further boosted by contributions made to the Northland Grassroots Fund for even greater reach and impact.
