Whangārei Hearing Fund

The Whangārei Hearing Fund is an endowment fund established to provide ongoing support for people with hearing loss within the Whangārei District

The Whangārei Hearing Fund was established in 2019 following the dissolution of the Whangārei Hearing Association. The fund is invested for perpetuity, ensuring a lasting legacy of support for the Whangārei community, in line with the original purpose of the Whangārei Hearing Assocation. The annual interest earned from the investment is distributed to Deaf Aotearoa's Whangārei Branch. This endowment fund honours the vision of the Whangārei Hearing Association by addressing the ongoing hearing needs of the community, fostering inclusion and improved quality of life for individuals with hearing impairments.

Deaf Aotearoa's Whangārei Branch provides information, assistance, resources and advice on a day to day basis to community members, other organisations and the general public, as well as New Zealand Sign Language interpretation and a First Signs service for families with children aged up to 5 who have hearing impairments. The annual grant provided by the fund supports the staff who provides these vital services.

By donating to the Whangārei Hearing Fund, either today or through a gift in your will, you can help these services to reach more people in our community.
