Waipu Museum Fund

The Waipu Museum Fund was established in 2016, to support the operation of the Waipu Scottish Migration Museum. The fund is invested, with the capital retained and the annual interest provided to the Museum to support their operating costs.

Waipu Scottish Migration Museum tells a settlement story unique in New Zealand’s history and, with its modern innovative approach, it has won a reputation as one of New Zealand’s finest small museums. The museum tells the story of how 1000 Scottish Highlanders arrived in Waipu in the 1850’s. The Museum was built by descendants of these early migrants for the centennial celebrations in 1953.

The Museum is kept alive by the dedication and commitment of over 70 volunteers. Your donation will help to build the fund to provide an ongoing income stream to support the upkeep of the Museum and the continued exposure of the Waipu's unique story.
