The Northland Environment Fund supports initiatives that restore and protect Northland's natural environments while creating employment, education, and community opportunities across Te Tai Tokerau.
Northland's natural environments including the ngahere, awa and moana (forest, rivers and ocean) are taonga that belong to all of us, and to the generations that will follow. The Northland Environment Fund was established in 2026 to ensure that caring for these environments goes hand in hand with strengthening the communities who call this region home.
Grants from the Northland Environment Fund support four key areas: initiatives that enhance the mana of hapū; projects that improve outcomes in low-decile communities through community involvement; employment opportunities in environmental restoration and conservation; and environmental education and advocacy that empowers Northlanders to protect what matters most.
Donations to this Fund are invested with Craigs Investment Partners, and the interest earned is delivered as a grant to organisations and groups working to protect te taiao (the environment). To support this Fund. you can leave a gift in your will, or make a donation today to grow the Fund.
