The Child Health Advancement Research Trust (CHART) Fund supports innovative child health research and services across Northland. Managed by the Northland Community Foundation, it funds projects that improve equity, early intervention, and long-term health outcomes for tamariki and their whānau.
The CHART Fund was transferred to Northland Community Foundation in 2007, following the winding up of the New Zealand-Pacific Child Health Advancement Research Trust, which was originally established by clinicians at the Northland DHB. Following the objectives of the original trust, it supports the advancement of the health of children and young people in Northland through research, quality improvement initiatives, and service development. The CHART Fund focuses on addressing unmet health needs, promoting equity, and backing early interventions that provide lifelong benefits.
Projects funded include the purchase of sensory resources for the Occupational Therapy Sensory Workshop Library.
The fund accepts both immediate-use donations and bequests. Donations to the CHART Fund help expand its reach, supporting local, innovative solutions that improve the health journeys of children and their families across the region.
