Supporting our community is at the heart of everything we do.
Since our launch in 2004, Northland Community Foundation has proudly granted over $7,842,000. These funds have supported a wide range of projects and organisations across sectors such as arts, animal welfare, education, environment, health, social services, and sports.
In 2025, our Grants Committee allocated funding to 22 deserving recipients. This funding supported operational costs, salaries, project expenses, and equipment, enabling these organisations to continue their vital mahi in Northland.
The annual funding round for 2025 is now closed, but applications for 2026 will open in May 2026.

We are proud to support some amazing groups and charities across Northland. If you are successful in receiving a grant from us, we would be grateful if you could display our logo and tell people about us.
We provide funding to charities and community groups working in key areas such as health, education, the environment, and social wellbeing, depending on the funds available each year. Some funds also support specific causes, as directed by donors.
Visit our Grants page on the website to check current funding opportunities, guidelines, and application deadlines.
Grant rounds vary depending on available funding but usually open in May each year. Keep an eye on our website or subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
Applications are assessed by our Grants Committee, ensuring funds are distributed fairly and effectively to causes that align with the fund's purpose and our mission.
Most grants are for registered charities and community groups, but some scholarships and specific funds may support individuals.
In some cases, groups that are not registered charities can apply if they have an umbrella organisation to oversee the funding. Contact us to discuss your situation.
