New Community Wellbeing Fund established by Contact Energy

Contact approached us with an idea and a question. They wanted to work to improve the wellbeing of Northland communities – could we help? Of course we could! We worked alongside Contact Energy to establish a new fund called The Northland Contact Energy Community Wellbeing Fund. We then went over which areas in the community they wanted to focus on and settled on organisations that provide services such as foodbanks, budgeting services and welfare centres.Bryan Middleton, Head of Customer Experience at Contact, told us: “At Contact, it’s important for us to serve the communities we work in, and to be a good neighbour. We’re mindful people living in Northland have had a tough time this year, so we felt setting up this fund was a good way for us to support communities in the area.”After making an initial donation which will stay with the foundation in perpetuity, Contact will see their fund distribute a percentage each year to deserving groups and charities that work to improve wellbeing across Northland. This fund provides a tangible way for Contact to make a difference in the community, forever.

We would also like to thank Contact for making a donation to the operational costs of the Foundation. We really appreciate business donations, as they help the Foundation to run as efficiently as possible, while maximising returns to the community. If you’re a business that wants to see your community thrive, get in touch with us about how Northland Community Foundation can support your initiatives. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
